WAJIR—Locals in Wajir South have on Monday last week orgernised for a mini send-off event for the outgoing area Deputy County Commissioner, Felix Kisalu.

Kisalu will be remembered for his bid to restore peace along the porous border with Somalia.

While listing his achievements, the locals said the DCC mobilised intense programme that registered over 54,000 persons during the recent Huduma Namba, improvements of the deteriorating security situation in the border Towns of Gerille, Hambalash and Diff by recruitment and training of over 260 KPR officer deployed to enhance security.

Kisalu also led the peace and harmony between warring communities in Wajir East and South in regard to border disputes as well as successful construction, fencing and furnishing of Wajir South Sub County offices which houses several government department.

During his reign since 2016, Kisalu oversaw the issuance of ID program that got over 6,000 persons registered.

Kisalu will now join Harambee House.
