GARISSA—The critics of Garissa governor claim that a Somali musician who performed at a county event was paid millions for his appearance.

In a quick rejoinder, the county government of Garissa has refuted the allegations that it was processing the payment of sh 2m for a Somali musician who performed on Wednesday at an event graced by the head of the county.

Singer Abdirahman Abubakar (Dalmar Yare) entertained Governor Ali Korane and his guests at a Garissa Hotel while launching ksh 150 million youth and women revolving fund.

The county’s head communication says the singer is not qualified for claims.

“Government allowances and nights outs cannot be processed for a non-staff,” Abubakar Dayax said.

He added that the money in question “is too expensive even for a presidential function.”
