Nimo Sheikh from Multi-Media university is the new president of KUSO

NAIROBI—The giant Kenya university students union has new officials who will hold the position for a one year term.

Nimo Sheekh who hails from Wajir County and student at Multi-Media University is the new president of the Kenya University Students’ Organisation (KUSO).

Wajir Women Representative, Fatuma was first to congratulate her. She urged Nimo to prove a point and leave a mark.

“After the election of Anne Mwangi as the chairperson for SONU, I challenged ladies in Universities who hail from Wajir to break the duck. Some months later, Nimo has risen to the occasion. Well done my dear sister,” Fatuma said in post to get Facebook.

City politician and businessman, Steve Mbogo termed Nimo “fearless lady. He called on her to steer the KUSO to greater heights.“University students across Kenya have acted greatly by voting in a smart and fearless lady to lead the mighty Kenya University Students’ Organization (KUSO).

“ I Pass my congratulations to Miss Nimo Sheikh for being elected KUSO Chair. We shall walk with you and make the voice of comrades powerful , once again.  Congrats again to Nimo Sheikh,” Mbogo said in statement seen by Kulan Post.

Nimo was the deputy president of the student union, serving under  Antony Manyara President who was the President. KUSO is about four years running and naturally encompasses all the registered universities in Kenya. 

Active participation has been from about 10 universities and the membership approximates to 300,000.
