GARISSA—Miraa dens will remain closed over the period of national census exercise, North Eastern Regional Commissioner, Mohamed Birik declared on Friday.
The directive also affects small eating joints and bars.
Birik said the success of the exercise will determine the future of the county and urged all Kenyans to participate.
He assured residents of security during the exercise that will go into the night saying security officers will accompany KNBS officials to homes.
