A bus accident in Wajir kills one, injures 27

BREAKING NEWS: A passenger bus en route to Wajir from Nairobi rolled several time at a village 10 kilometers from Wajir, the bus’s final destination.

One person has been confirmed injured while 27 other sustained critical injuries. Sabrin Bus Services rolled severally at Lagbor before resting on its side chassis. The bus departed from Nairobi Sunday at noon. Preliminary reports indicate the bus was filled to capacity—all the 60 seats were occupies—excess passengers lined along the isle. The driver, who particularly sustained a life threatening injury to his neck and back, lost control of the bus after what is believed to be a tyre bust.
The county ambulances have evacuated the injured to Wajir Referral Hospital. “We are unable to attend to the casualties. The hospital is overcrowded by relative of the passengers,” said a medic who spoke to Wajir Times on phone.
