NAIROBI—Suspected Al Shabab militants have launched an attack on Moyale Raha bus earlier today.
The bus was traveling between Derkale and Burashum when it was ambushed, security officials said.
There was heavy exchange of fire between the militants and security escort, forcing the militants to retreat, passengers recounted.
“No casualties,” the bus driver told Kulan Post.
The bus travelled from Mandera and was headed for Nairobi . After the attack, the bus passengers were brought back to Banisa town.
In recent months ,Alshabab operatives have been making advancements in different parts of Mandera county , particularly Banisa sub County.
