Educate your children, Dandora residents told

Muslims in Mowlem area of Dandora in Nairobi have being urged to place more emphasis on education as this will serve as a catalyst to foster development in the community.
The call was made by a community leader Ustadh Hussein Muhammad who challenged parents to ensure that their children received Islamic and contemporary education to nurture professionals who will contribute to uplift the standards of living and development of the area and the community at large.
“Let us teach our children both secular and religious studies as this will produce various professionals in our society such as doctors, engineers, pilots and religious scholars who will be instrumental in contributing to the progress of our community,” said Ustadh Hussein.
He particularly emphasized on providing education to the girl child stressing that educating a female amounts to emancipating a family and a whole nation
Ustadh Hussein made these remarks on Tuesday during the official opening ceremony of Darul Hijra Mosque Dandora.
Speaking at the same event Sheikh Hussein Rajab a Madrassah teacher in Dandora called on Muslims to put their differences aside and unite for the betterment of the community. “For any development to be achieved in the Muslim ummah we must come together and shun infighting. Without unity we are doomed for failure,” he noted.
The teacher also called for more cooperation between Muslim organizations as this will enable them to effectively address various issues affecting the community.
The chairman of Darul Hijra mosque Sadiq Khamis Khalfan expressed gratitude to well -wishers who have contributed in the construction of the mosque and singled out women for their immense support towards the project.
He said the presence of the mosque will play a significant role in enhancing the spiritual and community development of area residents as well as improving on inter-faith relationship among people of diverse faiths.
