NAIROBI—It has been more than six days since former Jubbaland minister, Abdirashid Janan reportedly went missing.
“He was bundled into a vehicle by unknown people while leaving his home in South B, Nairobi,” the family told Kulan Post on Sunday evening, the first time the news of his dispearance became public.
● On Monday morning, Somalia-based Shabelle TV quoted a traditional elder who claimed that “Janan was killed.” However, the family disputes the claim, saying,”We have not been notified by the Kenyan security agencies probing the case about his death or whereabouts.”
●The Council of Jubbaland opposition leaders have tasked Jubbaland leader Ahmed Madobe “to produce Janan.”
● Jubbaland Interior minister, Yusuf Hussein alias Dhumaal said on Monday afternoon: “We have made a formal communication with the Kenyan security agencies to aid us in locating the whereabouts of Abdirashid Janan.”
