Garissa County Referral Hospital has been ranked the third County Referral Hospital in Kenya for its patronage of MEDS health products and services.

The award was presented during a ceremony at a Nairobi hotel on August 15, 2025, in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to sourcing quality medical supplies and enhancing patient care.

The accolade was part of a nationwide initiative by MEDS (Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies) to honor top-performing county health institutions.

MEDS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wycliffe Nandama commended Garissa County Referral Hospital for its leadership in ensuring consistent access to safe and reliable health commodities.

He said the recognition is a testament to the hospital’s dedication to quality and service excellence.
