NAIROBI – Mall owners along Kipanga Athumani street in Eastleigh have called on Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja to adress hawkers and Taxis blocking the entire street on daily basis.
About twenty-two mall owners and property managers along the street said it has become a nightmare for clients to access premises and do business.
Omar Abdi, the organising secretary of the Eastleigh Business District Association said hawkers and taxis cause disturbance, Nuisance and noise which has negatively impacted their business.
Mr. Omar called on authorities to bring the sanity back considering they contributing a lot to county coffers in form of Licenses and Permits and that hawkers and taxus pay nothing which we believe is unfair.
“We request the Nairobi City Inspectorate to take a stern action against these illegal activity so as to return sanity along this street,” said Mr. Omar.
Omar noted that the congestion has affected 5,200 shops operating in the malls along this street.
