MANDERA—On Friday, Kenyan security agents have worked hand in hand with their Somali counterparts in preventing a terror plot in Kenya.

Six terror suspects were later arrested at Bulla Hawa, a Somali town neighboring Mandera county.

They were nabbed during an attempt to enter the country and were considered very dangerous because they carried with them a mixed bag of  explosives and guns as well.

Of the six arrested suspects two were Kenyans who hails from Mandera town—Ismael  Isaac Mohammedo of Id No.27797509 and Abullai Duad Adan of ID No. 29326689— who are both from Mandera central

The other four suspects are from Somalia—Mohammed Ali Weynow, Hassan Adan Bule, Hassan Mohammed Jama and Ahmed Mohammed Muse.

“The security forces found very dangerous different forms of firearms from the suspect’s belongings. They included complete anti personnel explosives devices, four suicide vests and bomb making materials as well as trinitronoluene and fragmentation-generating objects that included nails, nuts and ball bearings,” a circular by the Police said.

The terrorists were ordered by their commander from Somalia to cast an attack in Kenya. They are all held and  investigated for possible links with sleeper cells in Kenya.

“The process was an achievement due to the alliance with the authority in Somalia together with the support from the Gedo Regional Administration in the fight against Al-Shabaab,” the police said.
