Mandera County government condemns the attack on quarry workers

We are today horrified by the events of last night on the outskirts of Mandera town which resulted in killing, destruction and attack on innocent lives.

The attackers have turned the Holy month of Ramadhan which is supposed to be a blessing to everyone, into a calamity for non-local Kenyans in Mandera.
We express our deepest sympathies and sorrow for the victims, their relatives and friends. We condemn, in the strongest terms, the incident, which is against all human and Islamic teachings. God Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: ‘No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another’ (Surah al-Isra 17:15).”
These heinous attacks would only serve to strengthen the commitment of the people of Mandera to help defeat those bent on murder, destruction and causing of fear and confusion.
