MANDERA—At least four teachers and police officers were injured in a road accident at Hara Mamo location along Banisa-Guba road, Mandera County, on Thursday afternoon.
According to a police report, the accident was caused by “a front tyre blowout.” The vehicle was attached to the Border Police Unit (BPU).
The ill-fated police vehicle and the four officers on board were on a mission to offer escort for the teachers who had completed a seminar at Banisa town.
Two of the injured teachers were from Choroko Primary School, while the other two were from Guba Primary and Qotqot Primary Schools.
The victims were ferried to Banisa referral hospital and discharged on Friday morning.
