NYANDARUA—State officials have welcomed the new County Commissioner Mohamed Barre who was initially stationed in Nyeri County, to replace the outgoing County Commissioner Amos Mariba who has since been transferred to Mandera County.

During the handover ceremony held at the County Commissioner’s boardroom, the outgoing CC asked the Heads of Departments and other government officers present to accord Mr Barre the necessary support to ensure he settles in well.

“I thank all for attending here to witness my handover, l urge all of you to continue working as a team to ensure Nyandarua forges forward. I have moved to Mandera County but I believe I have left this county in the very able hands of my colleague Mohammed Barre,” said Mr Mariba.

Mr Barre who doubles up as the chairperson of County Commissioners countrywide on his side, promised to take over from where his predecessor left and asked the government officers and all stakeholders present to always communicate with him saying he’s an open person.

“I am here as a County Commissioner but if the government fails to deliver, every one of us here will take the blame. So I ask all to work together with me and feel free to share with me anything from work related to personal issues. I will always guide you accordingly without compromising our work ethics,” said Barre.

Also present at the handover ceremony was the Interfaith Council chairperson Bishop Josam Kariuki and Sheikh Maalim Waweru the deputy secretary of the Interfaith Council of Nyandarua.
