Muslim MPs in Parliament now 37 down from 42 members

NAIROBI—Thirty seven Muslim Members of Parliament (MPs) will be among the 290 elected legislators in the thirteenth parliament. The Twelfth parliament, which was dissolved prior to the General Elections, had 43 Muslim MPs.

The number may however increase as a number of Muslims are in the list of names submitted by political parties for the twelve positions of nominated MPs.
The elected MPs are Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe), Badi Twalib (Jomvu),
Rashid Juma Bedzimba (Kisauni), former investigative journalist Muhammad Ali
37 Muslim MPs in thirteenth parliament(Nyali), Mishi Juma Mboko (Likoni), Muhammad Machele (Mvita), Feisal Bader (Msambweni), Kassim Tandaza (Matuga), Ali Wario Guyo (Garsen), Said Buya Hiribae (Galole), Yakub Adow (Bura) and Amina Mnyazi (Malindi).

Others are Ruweida obbo (Lamu East), Khamis Abdi Chome(Voi), Aden Bare Duale (Garissa Township), Abdi Omar Shurie (Balambala), Abdikadir Hussein (Lagde-ra), Farah Maalim (Dadaab), Salah Yakub Farah (Fafi), Abdi Ali Abdi (Ijara), Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim (Wajir North), Adan Muhammad Daud (Wajir East), Muham-mad Adow(Wajir South), Hussein Abdi Bare (Tarbaj), Yusuf Farah (Wajir West) and Adan Keynan Wehliye (Eldas). The poll victory of the last two legislators have been disputed.

Also elected are Adan Haji Yussuf (Mandera West), Kulow Maalim Hassan (Banissa), Bashir Sheikh Abdullahi (Mandera North), Abdul Ibrahim (Mandera South), Hussein Weytan (Mandera East), Muhammad Abdikheir (Lafey), Prof Guyo Wako (Moyale), Dido Ali Raso (Saku), Wario Guyo (North Horr) and Muhammad Tupi (Isiolo South).

Other Muslim MPs elected are Junet Muhammad (Suna East),Yusuf Hassan
(Kamukunji),Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East) and Raheem Dawud (Imenti North).
