Photography event planned to raise funds for a cancer patient’s medical kitty

NAIROBI—A photography event to raise money for a cancer patient is set to take place on Sunday at Aboretum in Nairobi.
The proceeds of the event will be donated to the medical kitty of Abdiaziz Adan who was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma in 2013.
Three years ago, doctors recommended that his leg be amputated to stop the cancer cells from attacking other parts of his body. However, the cells have since spread to his brain.
“We want to use our skills to collect money for the bill,”Stephen Njuguna of Increatives Kenya said.
The photography event was planned to take place before Kenyans contributed to Abdiaziz’s medical cost in India. Doctors at the Indian hospital said his cancer condition was beyond medication.
“Our main objective is to bring people together and create awareness as we raise funds for Abdiaziz medical upkeep,” the lead organiser of the event said.
Stephen added that ten photo shoot would cost the participant sh500.
Abdiaziz is now in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals as part of his Islamic faith.
