Secondary school girl gang raped by three men in Wajir county

A secondary school girl was gang-raped by three men in Habaswein town the south of Wajir County.
This happened earlier this week while she was on her way to school where she was approached by the three men she’s very familiar with riding on a taxi.
The three offered her a lift to school which she gracefully accepted.
They also offered her a soda which was laced with sedatives and she fell fast asleep immediately. They then took her to a secluded location in Habaswein town.
She was repeatedly raped by three abductors for three consecutive days. They could possibly have been feeding her intravenously during the period.
Meanwhile, a major search involving the police and the local administration was conducted all over town and surrounding areas after news came out the girl was missing.
The distressed girl, utterly helpless and unable to walk, was located early this morning in the “safe house” where she’s been repeatedly defiled over the last three days.
She received emergency medical attention at the local Habaswein hospital before she was ferried to Wajir Hospital. She’s being flown to Nairobi’s Women Hospital tomorrow, courtesy of the Wajir Women MP, Fatuma Gedi.
Two suspects are being held at the Habaswein police station. The third accomplice is on the run.
There are fears that the local administration and police officers handling the matter are being compromised. They are insisting on local resolutions that often doesn’t accord justice to the girl child.
“We don’t understand this community, this is a serious crime but they want to end it in a way that is against the law.” a police officer who sort anonymity told Kulan Post on phone.
This is a serious matter that should not be swept under the carpet.
