NAIROBI – Soldiers of the Somali National Army special units have concluded a military exercise in Kenya.
The training saw the participation of the elite Danab Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA).
The military exercises incorporated personnel and units from more than 20 nations. The drill is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa.
The Somali soldiers in Kenya were participating in the JUSTIFIED ACCORD military exercise for the second time.
The Commander of the Somali National Army, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Salaax Cabdi, said SNA demonstrated high levels of skill, readiness, and military capability.
The multinational exercise is an international military exercise that brings together various countries to enhance skills and cooperation among the participating forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Salaax said the participation of the Somali National Army in this exercise highlights the progress made in the disciplined Force.
He said the training boosts the military’s international collaboration and strengthens the defense capabilities and operational readiness of the Somali armed forces.
The exercise aims to strengthen the U.S. joint force and prepare regional partners for UN and AU missions. It is expected to improve coordination between nations.
The participating security agencies prioritizes humanitarian aid, disaster response, and crisis management.
