DJIBOUTI – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), has commenced a three-day official visit to the Republic of Djibouti.

President Cirro and his delegation were received at the Presidential Palace by Djiboutian President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh on Wednesday.

The visit is a significant undertaking in regional diplomacy for the self declared independent state of Somaliland.

The leaders will hold discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting stability and cooperation in the Horn of Africa.

According to officials, the two presidents engaged in constructive talks on a range of issues including trade, security, and regional development.

Somaliland Statehouse also indicated that the visit is part of broader efforts to deepen ties between the two neighboring nations and enhance mutual interests.

President Cirro’s visit is his first official foreign trip since assuming office.

It signals Djibouti’s strategic importance to Somaliland’s foreign policy agenda.

The Somaliland delegation includes key government officials and advisors, and further meetings and public engagements are scheduled throughout the three-day visit.

The trip is part of growing engagement between Somaliland and regional partners, as the unrecognized yet self-declared state continues to seek greater diplomatic and economic partnerships in the Horn of Africa.
