Supreme Court judges allow IEBC to withdraw from Wajir petition

NAIROBI—Supreme Court has granted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission the greenlight to withdraw from Wajir gubernatorial petition.

While reading the ruling, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Maraga said the matter was not opposed by the either of the legal teams.

The court also allowed an application to struck out an affidavit by the Vice Chancellor of Kampala University, saying it wa filed after the court ruled against an application file by the respondents to cross-examining the governor and the VC among others.

“It was filed out of time,” Maraga said.

The bench has now resumed to a full blown hearing in the historic petition.
