On May 24th 2017, the Head of State informally invited the secretary General together with the leader of Religious Affairs to State House to be able to accept a kind gesture—gift— of 3.6tons of dates for sharing across the country during this Holy month of Ramadan.

Thereafter the small calling, the President Strategic Communication Unit distributed reports that were widely covered in both the print media and the electronic media to the conclusion that SUPKEM had recommended President Uhuru and the Jubilee alliance in the upcoming August polls which is scheduled to take place on exactly 8th the same month 2017

It was reported that H.E The President had continued to similarly invite for different reasons to other groups one being Muslim clerics, politicians and the Matatu Welfare Organisation

The SUPKEM constitution is definite on not favouring any political party or any political circle in the country, an arrangement we have maintained since our enrollment in 1973.

“We want to state here that the announcement that we recommended H.E President was false as it did not occur,” said the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims.

They further added, “when situations commands SUPKEM has a figured arrangement of pursing witnesses with the supreme office of the President or any other political superiors in government or in the opposition.”

This is mostly done on issues of specified interest to Muslims in Kenya and also issues that are equally important to the social Economic Welfare of Kenyans.
