NAIROBI—The father of Idris Mukhtar is planning to call for a Press conference within next week to make major announcement.

According to family sources, Dr. Aden Mukhtar is planning the presser to “introduce new twist into the plot” since mothns after he was shot on the head at Kilimani mosque.

On November, Dr Aden resigned from his post as the principal of Garissa Teacher’s Training College.

“I cannot serve the same government that is denying justice to my son,” he said at the Milimani Law Court while flanked by lawyer Charles Kanjama who accused the Director of Public Prosecution of favourism in handling the case pitting Garissa governor, Ali Korane.

But Director of Public Prosecutions,p Noordin Haji has denied claims of favouritism.

In a letter dated October 17, 2018, replying to a query by lawyer Charles Kanjama, Mr Haji dismissed as false suggestions that his office is favouring some suspects.

“This office does not act on rumours, conjecture, innuendo or contrived theories in making prosecutorial decisions, but is purely guided by evidence and law,” he said.

The family of the 34-year old Idris say the former Garissa CEC for Finance was returned into the country on January 21st, the Nation quoted a source in the family.

“The family had converted one of his rooms into an intensive care unit, complete with an adjustable bed, a suction machine, and heart rate and blood pressure monitors, among other devices,” he said.

Medics in India said they had done all they could, but it did little to change the condition.
