Majority leader of the National Assembly Adan Duale has dismissed claims that there is misunderstanding and a bad blood between Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Samoei Ruto.

There has been media reports suggesting the existence of rifts in the rulling party, Jubilee, following the now famous handshake beween the Opposition leader Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta on 9th of March.

A story that was on a local newspaper claimed that allies of the deputy president were scrambling for space in the government following accommodation of the National Super Alliance leader whom they see as a rival to William Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

“We have been monitoring events as they unfold, it will be premature to engage politically at this moment, but by saying no to constitution referendum is a way of sending a message we are prepared for a brutal phase ahead,” an MP from Rift valley and a close ally of Ruto told Kulan Post.

However, the Garissa township legislator dismissed the remarks claiming all was well between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto and are on course to deliver jubilee’s big four agenda.

”The deputy President has and will remain loyal to President Uhuru untill he finishes his term come 2022,” Duale said.

“Through Ruto, Kenya can learn two lessons; that a son of a common man can rise to any heights and also that politics of loyalty pays,” Duale added.
