Three charged in Mandera court over exam malpractice

MANDERA—A KCSE student and two examination officers were today arraigned  in a Mandera court over examination malpractice.

Abdikar Ali Mohamed, 19 was charged for being in possession of unauthorized examination material.

Mr Samuel Gitari Mutembei, an invigilator and Mr Adan Issack Haji, a supervisor were also charged with aiding the offence and failing to frisk the student.

The candidate was on Thursday  found in the examination room with a mobile phone containing Business Studies paper II questions and answers.

The offences were committed at Buruburu Primary School in Buruburu village, Mandera town where Elimu Bora Secondary School candidates are sitting their KCSE examinations.

The three pleaded not guilty before Mandera Resident Magistrate Dancum Mtai.

They were set free on a bond of Sh200,000 each with a surety of similar amount or a cash bail of Sh100,000 each.

The case will be mentioned on December 3.
