GARISSA—-A two-day event dubbed: “Pastoralist Education and Career Fair” is set to take place in Garissa Primary School on Sunday.

The unprecedented event targets school leavers and students from northern Kenya.

The Pastoralist Education and Career Fair is organized by Ark Media Kenya in partnership with the ministry of education’s National council for nomadic education in Kenya (NACONEK) and Umma University, the leading Islamic university in Kenya.

“Various universities and colleges are attending to create awareness about the educational opportunities in our institutions of higher learning,” a statement by the orgernisors said.

Also participating in the education expo are collages based in Garissa and the only public university in Northern Kenya—Garissa University.

The first annual Pastoralist Education and Career Fair will be officially opened by Garissa Township MP and Leader of Majority,Aden Duale.

“This education expo is all about creating awareness about the need for higher education since the region always laments about lack of teachers and such we are providing solution,” the statement added.
