Use your writing skills to defend Islam, Muslim scholars advised

Mandera County Senator Billow Kerrow commended for using his weekly column on the Standard to defend Islam

Friday Bulletin—Muslim scholars and educationists have been urged to use their writing skills and write to the media to demystify negative aspects about Islam and Muslims.

This call was made by the Kakamega based businessman Abdalla Ismail Wanyama who said in the current scenario where stereotypes and prejudice against Islam and Muslims are prevalent, it is important for both Muslim scholars and educationists to put pen to paper in setting the record straight on Islam and Muslims in order to give a true picture about the teachings espoused by the faith.

”There is widespread propaganda about Islam and Muslims,hence scholars and educationists have an obligation to write books and articles in newspapers to demystify these stereotypes”,he said.

Abdalla said writing to defend Islam was a form of Jihad (striving) which had been neglected by Muslim scholars and educationists and went on to urge them to revive this important aspect.

”This is one of the best forms of Jihad and we should take it up to defend our religion from the incesant attacks,”Abdalla added.

At the same time Abdalla called on Muslim youth to vigorous defend Islam and Muslims through social media to dispel myths and negative propaganda against Islam and Muslims.

He commended the Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow for his defence of Islam through his media articles and called on youth to emulate his work as it was contributing greatly to dispel myths and negative misconceptions against Islam and Muslims.
