Yet another name joins the hospitality sector of Wajir town

WAJIR—Wajir County Guest House has added new eatery into it sections in a bid to capitalise on growing hospitality sector in the county.

While unveiling the new section, the member of Parliament for Wajir East said the venture will create jobs for the locals.

“Your growth will certainly contribute to generating employment. So far I was briefed that you have 15 staff members who come from different parts of the country. That’s a symbol of our national unity,” he said.

Abdullahi Hassan, the interim County Secretary who represented Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamed, said that the county government had been very supportive of local hotels. He said the government had conducted meetings at the facility and would continue to use it.

“I can remember well that the hotel has been willing to host us even when the county government had no funds. The hotel was very friendly, so I appreciate the effort of the management in the development of the local tourism industry,” Abdullahi said.

Located along Mandera road, the hotel  provides  spacious rooms fitted with air-conditions and “honeymoon” rooms.  It also has three conference halls with standard public address systems and air conditioning.

The facility mamger took the guests through the hotel’s well-furnished prayer section, washrooms, VIP retreat sections and a designated area for press conferences.

“The hotel has a high-speed Wi-Fi network with 4G coverage and all its rooms are connected to the nework… Its conference facilities can take more 2,000 people at any one time,” Mohamed Bash, told reporters during the event

He added that the facility engages chefs from Kenya Utalii College.
