President Uhuru appoints Matiang’i to replace Nkaissery

NAIROBI—President Uhuru has appointed the Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i as acting Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination.
“This would ensure there is no vacuum in the country’s security apparatus,” said the president.
The president called for a National Security Council meeting in order to look into the security situation after the sudden death of the Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery at Karen Hospital.
President Uhuru said sudden death of Nkaissery would not create in the security docket.
