For the first time, youths express their opinion about what they think of Negotiated Democracy

GARISSA—Negotiated Democracy is taking a center-stage in the politics of North Eastern Kenya.
A section of serving leaders are set to give up their political careers thanks to this new found “democracy.”
Negotiated democracy is whereby a group of clan elders decide on the fate of politicians and identify possible coalitions with other clans in the same constituency or county.
However, critics have labelled it “Boardroom Deal” since the decision is not all-inclusive. The proponents, on the other side, believe the new-found democracy is prevents post-election clan-clashes.
This election will serve as a litmus whether or not the elder decision actually translate into a grassroot support.
