KISMAYU—Presidential hopefuls in the forthcoming Jubbaland elections now want the incumbent to allow free and fair elections.
The candidates accused the incumbent, Ahmed Islam Madobe of totalitarian and high-handedness.
Speaking to KTN, the hopefuls said President Ahmed Madobe was using his authority to call the shots and decide the “referees of the game.”
Their statement comes a day after the local ministry said that Jubbaland has “severed ties with Mogadishu administration” over what they said was bid by the presidency to meddle in the local elections.
