A Member of Parliament in the Kenyan national assembly has called on the government to withdraw its troops from
Somalia, saying the incursion of the Kenyan Defense Forces into Somalia has thrown the northern part of the country into a state of insecurity.
Mr Ahmed Ibrahim Abass, Member of Parliament for Ijara, said security in the region was deteriorating thanks to frequent deadly attacks by the Somalia based armed group Al Shabab.
“The people of this region (North Eastern) are living in constant fear,” he said.
He said since the Kenyan army crossed over to Somalia, the region has seen unprecedented levels of insecurity.
“The schools are closed due to insecurity and other important service have been suspended,” he said while speaking to the BBC Somali service.
