Sh33 million collected and distributed by muslim leaders in Kenya to help victims of recent truck bomb attack In Mogadishu
The money was also collected by the Somali business community in Kenya who live in Nairobi and Mombassa
Sheikh noor maalin Ismael, sheikh umal together with Somalia’s ambassador took part in the collection of the money
The money wwas meant for 940 families who lost their loved ones in the attack.
Popular Kenya based Islamic Cleric Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Umal met with Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Khaire in Mogadishu to hand over $403,000 to the Federal Government as donation from Somalis in Kenya and Uganda to the victims of October 14 Mogadishu Bombing.
“It was not any easy job, some people promised to give thee money, we had to follow up on , it happens all over the world,if you don’t follow up on people you won7t get the cash the promised to give” said the Popular Sheikh.
He urged the Somali people to unite, build their country and use the security apparatus to keep the country safe for everyone
The October explosion – the worst single explosion in somalia’s history – occurred at Zoobe junction, a bustling area of the city with many shops, hotels and offices. The deadly blast also left more than Over 400 people dead
