Governor Mohamed Abdi and his predecessor, Ahmed Abdullahi met at a hotel in Nairobi following weeks of consultations and bid to iron out political differences.

“…We convened a meeting to affirm a new beginning of friendship and unity after a divisive electioneering period that ended at the Supreme Court,” Governor Abdi said.

The governor stated that he would work hand in hand with Ahmed  “to forge ahead and build one Wajir County.”

Governor Abdi said elders and the political leaders will now start grassroot reconciliation exercise to unite the people.

Wajir County has seen one of the hotly and extended political season that ended after 18 months of court battles that finally saw the governor retaining his seat. Abdi immediately moved to call on his opponents to the table.
