A class eight candidate in Wajir was caught cheating in KCPE. The pupil at wajir Catholic primary school was caught on Wednesday during the Kiswahili paper while receiving texts messages on a phone
Confirming the incident, Wajir county commander Stephen g’etich said “ the phone was confiscated by the invigilator who found the 15 year old pupil with it”

Mr. Nge’tich also said the supervisor Mursal Noor came into the classroom with a paper that contained some answers and gave it to another candidate, that angered the invigilator who inturn took the paper from the candidate and thereby a heated argument erupted. Mursal was not in class during the phone incident.
‘ The school administration took control of the situation until evening when they reported the matter to the police.’’ Mr Ng’etich added
Exam malpractice
Everyone who was involved went and recorded statements at the Directorate of criminal investigations. A probe has been launched.
Since the KCPE began on Monday, this is the first cheating reported from Wajir county.
This is not the first time a school in wajir is on the spot on exam malpractice. Griftu Primary school in wajir w was on the spot last year after 21 cases of cheating was reported there when some teachers were caught texting answers of the exam to the candidates. Phones were also confiscated
