WAJIR—Its been a week of intense campaign and reconciliation for Wajir governor who seeks a second term.
Three weeks to the August polls, Ahmed pleaded with the constituents to elect him for a second term, saying his performance was above board.
“We all know the state of the Wajir West before the devolution. Let’s continue the good work,” he said.
Ahmed spent much time as he pushed for reconciliation among the Maatan clans to which he belongs.
“There is nothing wrong if we agree on how to unite and be part of the next government and county leadership,” he said at Hadado.
He urged the constituents to ignore people he termed as “spoilers”, saying they have a vested interest that will not favour the majority.
” What interest is better than having your own as a governor? ” he asked.
