Mohamed Abdi Affey shares a moment with elders after the meeting.
WAJIR—Former Wajir South legislator and the county senator will back Ahmed Muhumed for the county top job.
Ambassador Mohammed Abdi Affey and Abdirahman Ali Hassan have pledged to shelved their decade old political rivalry to help Ahmed Caato win the seat.
“Its not a good idea to fight over trivial issue,” Affey said at a hotel in Wajir when he met elders from across the county.
He was echoed by the outgoing Wajir County senator Abdirahman Ali Hassan who said he stepped down not to spoil the campaign for Ahmed Muhumed.
“I made the ultimate sacrifice just to have Ahmed win this seat. Let’s stand with him,” he said.
The leaders were praised for their sacrifice.
At the end of the meeting, both Affey and Olow endorsed Ahmed’s candidature and pledged to follow him in the campaign trail.
