NAIROBI – – – The Courts of Appeal has called for a repeat gubernatorial election in Wajir County.after appeals court dismissed the appeal.
The judge said the appealate courts supports the High Court ruling which nullified the election on the ground that the governor had no valid degree.
In a petition that was file by Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud appealed the High Court ruling which quashed his victory on the 12th of January.
Mohamed Abdi secured a stay order and appealed Judge Mabeya ruling on the 15th January.
The appellant Mohamed Abdi was represented by Counsel Fred Ngatia who defended his academic certificates, while the respondents, Ahmed Abdullahi and Ahmed Muhumed were represented by Counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi.
The governor’s lawyers said they will appeal the ruling at the Supreme Court.
