Mandera Governor to Kindiki: “We have locals in Mandera who died in defence of non-locals.”

MANDERA-Speaking in Mandera town during the launch of a polio vaccination drive, Governor Mohamed Khalif called-out on the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Prof Kithure Kindiki for remarks he made last week.

While appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Kindiki said the locals sometimes “locals incite violence against non-local teachers.”

In response, Governor Khalif said: “We have locals in Mandera who died in defence of non-locals.” His sentiments were echoed by his deputy and the area Women Representative,  Ms Umulkher.
