NAIROBI—A car blast has gone off in Mogadishu, killing at least three people and injuring seven others on mid-morning Wednesday.
The billowing smoke from the blast could be seen from miles away from the Sayidka checkpoint near the ministry of interior headquarters where the blast went off, local media reports.
The blast affected people in vehicles on the queue for crossing through the checkpoint and pedestrians walking by.
The checkpoint is frequented by Somali legislators on their way to the Parliament Building during sessions.
