NAIROBI—Garissa governor Nadhif Jama’a has apologised to the Kamba community in Garissa after an audio clip emerged where Duale is allegedly overheard telling Garissa youths to stop the Kamba community from registering as voters in the area.

Speaking at a Maasai community rite of passage ceremony in Isinya, Kajiado county, Nadhif said that Daule remarks do not represent the views of the Garissa people.

“Those sentiments do not represent in any case the peace loving people of Garrisa,” Nadhif said.

In a leaked audio on Thursday, Duale could be overheard telling the youths to orgernise in groups to stop the Kamba community in Garissa town from registering as area voters.

“Orgernise yourselves in groups and stop them (Kambas) from registering,” Duale was heard on the secret audio as saying.

He added, “People of this town, tell them to build houses but not to dare bring Wiper to this place. Tell the Kambas waiting for you that they will not cross Tana Bridge on election day.”

On Thursday, Farah told the press at the Department of Criminal Investigation that Daule must be arrested for the inflammatory utterances, saying it could cause violence at the August polls.

“Duale is a criminal who should not be walking free…He should be committed to jail and its immoral for him to roam around after inciting people to violence,” Farah said.

“In my opinion it is concocted propaganda,” Duale told the Star, adding that, M”y political rivals are spreading this lies against me.”

“You have somebody who said he was there with me… It is corrupted… It is not even audible. All of my functions are on my Facebook page,”Duale added.

CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka called on Daule not to blame individuals for the leaked audio, but to clear his name through the justice system.

“”I call on Duale not pin his tribulations on his opponents but rather submit himself to the justice system,” Kalonzo said.

The former Vice President in the Coalition government threatened that he would submit a formal complaint to the ICC if the president would not take actions against Duale.
