KISMAYO—Infrastructural development is a key pillar to improve the socio-economic status of the people, and to achieve that, the Jubaland administration has been investing in several key projects aimed at that.
Last week, Jubbaland unveiled the completion of the last stretch of road under construction. The Federal region is led by President Ahmed Madobe.
In a statement, the ministry of roads stated that they are “inches away from the completion of the 30-km long tarmacking of roads within Kismayo City.”
Earlier this month, Jubbaland shared pictures showing the construction of the first phase of the highway that connects the port city of Kismayo and Afmadow. Security experts hold the opinion that it is usually impossible for terror groups to plant landmines in such roads, minimising the risk of casualties and the surge of inter-city trade activities.
