GARISSA—The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is on Thursday expected to hold what the orgernisors termed as the “mother of all rallies”
in Garissa.
Abdikadir Omar Aden, the member of Parliament for Balambala who is orgernising the rally said the party leader Raila Odinga, Mombasa governor Hassan Joho and Junet Mohamed are expected to attend the rally.
Kulan Post understands that the rally would be used to introduce the preferred candidate that are set to vie on an ODM ticket.
Among the hopeful to be paraded are Aden Sugow for the senatorial post, Fatuma Kinsi who is seeking to unseat Shukran Gure for the Women Representative as well as offer strong backing for Abdikadir Aden who is challenge by a Jubilee candidate supported by Aden Duale, the Garissa Township legislator.
“Initially, the rally was slated for Garissa Primary but since it’s a school day it was moved to the livestock marlet,” a source privy to the rally said.
At Balambala, Abdikadir Aden is challenged by a candidate fronted by the Rer Yahye Family who are the majority in the area.
