Opposition Mps disrupt President Uhuru’s State of the Nation address

NAIROBI— The State of the Nation address by the Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta at the National Assembly was met with disruption caused by the legislators from the opposition CORD immediately he stood to deliver the annual address.

The address is held once in a year to take stock of what the government has done in the past year.

The drama started after the a senator and 7 members of Parliament started to blow whistle to attract attention and disrupt the President’s speech.

Uhuru Kenyatta seemed relaxed and appeared to enjoy the drama unfolding at the chambers while the same was being relayed on live TV.

The National Assembly Speaker, Mr Justin Muturi ordered MPs TJ Kajwang, Gladys Wanga, John Mbadi, Opiyo Wandayi among members who were ejected from the chambers.

Kenyans on social media reacted to the drama with a mixed reaction, but most users seemed angered by the unruly behavior.
