Reporting the milestone, Garissa County governor Nathif Jama’a said, “I am delighted that the first ever C- Section delivery was done this morning at 3 AM in Balambala sub-county in Garissa.”

The news was received well in parts of Garissa County, particularly at Balambla where the governor faces stiff opposition.

“The successive governments have continuously neglected Garissa, but things are fast changing,” Nathif added.

“It is historic and marks a new beggining for our people,”Balambala Member of Parliament Abdikadir Omar Adan said.

He added, “The investment by the county in this project was truly a worthwhile one and we must thank them too for picking this project as a priority in Balambala.

The good benefits of such project is a clear indication of how devolution can be used to change the lives of our people for the better.”

Congratulating the doctors who conducted the operation, the county CEC for health, Hubbi Hussein said more health practitioners would be recruited to aid such breakthroughs.
