BREAKING NEWS:

The crescent for the month of Shawwal has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, Saudi new agency reports.

“Saudi Arabia will observe the day of Eid Ul Fitr (1 Shawwal 1440) on Tuesday, 4 June 2,” the statement seen by Kulan Post said in part.

Several Muslim countries are yet to declare Tuesday as Eid day.  Indonesia has announced that Tuesday will be the last day of Ramadan and that Eid Al Fitr will be on Wednesday, June 5, stating that the moon sighting will not be visible today, Al Mowaten reported.

The moon sighting committee in Japan and Malaysia also announced that the first day of Eid Al Fitr is on Wednesday.

The Chief Khadi of Kenya, in a briefing on Monday evening, said the country will celebrate Eid on Wednesday.

”Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the 30th of the Ramadan,” Chief Khadi declared.
