Sodomy charges to be faced by Maragwa aspirant

NAIROBI—Maragua parliamentary aspirant Sam Wairimu is supposed to appear in court today following his arrest on Monday night.
“Mr. Wairimu was arrested after a complaint was filed against him by a suspect, who had been arrested for allegedly assaulting the candidate,” said Kandara police boss Gregory Mutiso.
He added that Mr Wairimu made a distress call to the police and the police came to his rescue at 5.30 am at a lodging in Kenol town and was found bleeding profusely.
The candidate was taken to a hospital in Kenol for treatment while the suspected culprit was taken to Kabati Police Station.
Mr Mutiso said, “The suspect explained at the police station why he attacked the aspirant.”
The suspet claimed that Mr Wairimu was trying to sodomise him.
Kandara police boss said that Mr Wairimu will face sodomy charges and the other suspect physical assault charges but the accused will have to recover from his injuries first before taking any actions.
