NAIROBI—A teen killed in Eastleigh’s Tenth Street last night in a shocking stab attack by the suspected “Super Power” gangs that operate in the area has been identified.

In a widely circulated photo on social media for the better part of Friday evening and Saturday Morning, Ahmed Dubow Subanea, a local journalist based in Nairobi said Abdullahi Abdikadir Diriye was killed after he resisted an attempt by the gang members to rob his phone off.

“He is no more,” he posted on his Facebook Friday evening.

“He was stabbed to death by the Super Power gang after he allegedly resisted move by the gang members to snatch off his phone,” he told Kulan Post.

Another account of the event has it that the late Abdullahi was strangled before he breathed his last.

Following the killing, the Pangani police station has released the photos of two teens (above) who they said were behind the stab attack.

This incident comes barely a fortnight after an Eastleigh based police constable was caught in video executing a man the force identified as gang member.

The video caused mixed reaction from Kenyans and the police watchdog agency, IPOA has launched investigation into the incident.
