GARISSA—Security officers in Wajir have nabbed a cache of weapons believed to have been in possession by a person who wanted to use it to launch an attack.
The assembly of weapons included two AK-47 rifles, two American colt pistols,two live grenades, two detonators, 137 assorted ammunition.
Speaking in Garissa where the cache of weapon was transported to for public display, North Eastern Regional Security Coordinator, Mohamed Salah said a member of the public tipped the security forces of the cache. He thanked the people who coordinated with the police to render the mission successful.
Meanwhile, Mr Salah indicated that the terror activities in the region was masterminded by Mohamed Kuno Yussuf alias Abu Ali, a close associate of Mohamed Mohamud alias Garmadhere, the Al Shabab figure that led the deadly Garissa University attack.
