DEVELOPING STORY

GARISSA—Three people were killed in Garissa in the wee hours of Thursday at an eatery in central Garissa.

Two waiters and night guard were stabbed with a sharp objects at Kilas Food Court by unidentified men, the police said.

Families identified the victims as watchman Kassim Rashid and waiters Abdisalan Ibrahim and Salat Salah.

Nothing was made away from the hotel during the 3 am incident, the management said.

“The incident happened simultaneously and we could not identify the killers,” an eyewitness said.

“We are treating this incident as a normal crime. We urge members of the public to stop speculating in the electioneering period,” the county commissioner of Garissa James Kianda said after he visited the crime scene accompanied by the county police boss.

It is not clear how the attackers scaled the perimeter wall and caused the murder without detection.

The bodies were later released following doctor examination for burial exercise to take off.
