WAJIR—The County Assembly of Wajir has approved a new clerk on Tuesday.
In a ceremony held at the assembly chambers in Wajir and attended by the members of the county assembly, Shalle Sheikh Mursal, who was deputy clerk, was confirmed as the new clerk.
“The County Assembly approves the Confirmation of appointment of Mr.Shalle Sheikh Mursal for the position of Wajir County Assembly Clerk in Accordance with section 13(1) of the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012,” a statement by the assembly said.
The position was vacated by Osman Mame who was arrested on February by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over a Ksh.26 million car belonging to the Governor, Mohamed Abdi.
